I hope you have had the chance to see Mae live. The Virginia bred band has one of the best live shows you will find. After releasing a few good albums (including one of my favorites: The Everglow), Mae has launched a project for 2009 which is noble and noteworthy.
They are releasing a new song each month available for a $1 donation. The proceeds will go to supporting humanitarian efforts throughout the year. Successful artists in all mediums succeed by creating a following and developing community. Mae’s ambitious vision is to unite their tribe in making a difference.
The first five songs released are brilliant and intelligent rock and roll. Check them out below and if you’d like, support the cause.
I also want to point out that this is a brilliant marketing concept. Why? Because it is sincere and valuable to the audience of Mae. It is an idea that has spread. I believe Mr. Godin would agree.
